The Asylum group in Norrköping

The Asylum group in Norrköping is an organisation that supports and helps asylum seekers and refugees. The Asylum group is religiously independent and not affiliated to a political party. It was formed as a continuation of the Campaign for Amnesty for Refugees (Flyktingamnestikampanjen) in 2005. The campaign engaged both individuals and many different organisations in a concerted effort to solve the intolerable situation for refugees and asylum seekers in Sweden. The campaign led to a temporary law through which many, but far from all asylum seekers, received a more equitable judgement of their reasons for asylum. However, the situation for refugees and asylum seekers is still far from acceptable. There are still many people living in Sweden under intolerable and inhuman circumstances. It is our will that this condition will be changed.

Asylgruppen Norrköping consists of people with different background who have in common that we find it important to take a stand for a humane refugee policy and fights for the right to asylum. We would like to stand up for and support people who have turned to Sweden for protection against persecution. We would also like to work for a public opinion in favour of solidarity and a secure asylum process.

Asylgruppen Norrköping is a member of FARR, The Swedish Network of Asylum and Refugee Support Group.
